Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the local company’s financial resources including financial planning and management of financial and liquidity risks
  • Design and set-up an acceptable accounting and internal control system that will support proper record keeping, financial reporting and analyses of revenue and expenditure data for decision-making
  • Carry out daily reconciliation of both overseas and local (import and export) sales of cargo tracking notes (CTNs)
  • Carry out agency revenue account reconciliation on a daily and weekly basis
  • Carry out inter-company reconciliation for all expenses incurred by or behalf of overseas partners
  • Ensure the preparation of annual budgets encompassing revenues, expenses as well as capital expenditures; he along with the HR/Admin Manager will be ultimately responsible for the preparation and presentation of the annual budget to the Board prior to the start of the financial year
  • Set up chart of accounts to support the preparation of a General Ledger and management accounts in order to meet financial reporting requirements as prescribed by the Board of Directors; these reports may be requested by the Board periodically
  • Ensure periodic financial performance monitoring by comparing budget estimates against actuals
  • Support and work with external auditors in preparing for semi-annual and annual audits every financial year
  • Compute, file and ensure the timely payment of all taxes due to the “The Gambia Revenue Authority”
  • Verify and run payroll after preparation by the HR department, and ensure timely payment to staff

Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the Offloading/Loading of the container
  • Monitoring the Offloading/loading of bulk
  • Taking statistic at Export and Import gate
  • There will be three (3) eight (8) hour shifts in every 24 hours 7 days a week (7am to 3pm); (3pm to 11pm) and (11pm to 7am). One compliance Officer shall be assigned to each crane of the vessel in case of container vessel and two compliance officers to bulk cargo vessel. Two or more compliance officers are to be at export and import gate per shirt depending on the workload.
  • Responsible to note the container number, serial number and size of each container been offloaded/loaded, etc.
  • Handover all data collected to the shift (Compliance) Supervisor at the end of his/her shift
  • Completely observe all safety rules by wearing safety gears (PPEs) when on duty at all times
  • Perform other duties at the port and/or in the office as may be assigned by the Compliance Supervisor, Compliance Manager or other top managers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving monthly data from both MRN and compliance departments on both imports and exports of all vessels discharged and loaded in The Gambia
  • Analyzing the data received from these departments into imports and exports
  • Comparing the data between the departments in terms of vessels, voyage number, ETA, ETD and shipping agencies
  • Reconciling the identified variances between these departments and entered the data into the audit statistics template for report purpose
  • Showing the total number of containers, ro-ro and bulk by vessels for each shipping agent
  • Presenting the audit statistics data into tables and figures (bar and chart) for all audit reports
  • Presenting the audit statistical data into narrative report for each month, first, second, third, fourth quarter, semi-annual and annual reports
  • Spontaneous check at Banjul Port and elsewhere for punctuality and regularity of compliance staffs assigned there
  • Reconciling compliance daily tally records with Finance department to ensure if all containers most especially the non-complied BL are financially comply before entering and leaving the port of Banjul.

  • Ensure that vehicles are always in good running order by checking tires, oils, fuel, water level, grease, etc., on a daily basis

  • Carry out minor services on vehicles, including tire maintenance, tightening loose parts, as needed
  • Ensure to be at assigned location to pick up and drop off staff in a timely manner
  • Remind HR/Admin Manager about schedule for vehicle servicing, renewal of insurance, driving license, changing of tires, and ensure preventive maintenance is done on time
  • Ensure the cleanliness (inside and outside) of the assigned vehicle

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the safe, effective, efficient and profitable production operation of a port facility by managing all aspects of the compliance activities to meet customers’ needs
  • Develop and deliver on business plans to meet port commitments
  • Handle coordination with truck carriers on delivery of product
  • Manage vessel tug, barge switching and fleeting operations
  • Responsible for safety and health throughout the port, including proper handling of dangerous goods
  • Lead, develop and implement strategic and operational planning for a port facility
  • Liaison with industry stakeholders and represent the company on external committees and associations
  • Supervise shipping process and inventory management ensuring that freight arrives at its destination in a timely manner
  • Monitor computerized automation system, to ensure that all equipment is operational, and production levels are met and maintained in accordance with goals and objectives
  • Oversee coordination and distribution of all products to maximize efficiency of port terminal space, expedition of loading vessels, along with the blending of grains to meet grade standards while maintaining the best possible profit margins
